Giving is more important than wisdom, and the recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom.
You ever want to give back, but just don’t know how to or where to turn to? See 3 great options below that may get you started on the right track! Throughout our lives we as individuals are granted gifts that no one else has in this world and are gifts not only to ourselves but also to the world we live in. The 3 areas I chose are important to me for different reasons.
- MS Society – Do you have a role model in your life? Do you have someone that you would call your best friend? Do you have someone you confide in? Do you have people that you admire and look up to? Do you idolize anyone? Do you know someone who has an idea of what perfect life-balance is? Do you know someone that you would do anything for? I do, and it happens to be my sister Jennifer Thomas.
She was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Many of you may know someone who has this debilitating disease. Many of you may want to contribute more or find out ways that you can contribute and learn more about this disease that has no known cure.
I have a way for you to participate and to contribute in her fight against MS and others who are fighting MS as well. I have an annual benefit dinner in her honor. All profits and proceeds from this dinner go directly to the Minnesota Chapter for Multiple Sclerosis. I am inviting you to come and join family, friends and the rest of our community in our annual Jennifer Thomas “Body & Soul” benefit dinner. - Mission Feed 150
This is a great way to feed 150 homeless people at once and a great way to get your office involved or family involved in a very simple giving program.

- Worldvision
I have been fortunate enough to travel the world and meet and see different cultures with my own eyes and have come to cherish what I have learned.
I chose to use Worldvision as an international platform for giving, because of their long term approach to specific areas of need in 3rd world countries. Their idea is to educate and empower the locals to work, live and cohabitate independently in order to sustain life on their own long-term. This can be a 10-15 year commitment on Worldvisions behalf. I chose to be involved with some small villages outside of Lusaka, Zambia and give back to them each and every year. I was also able to meet a little girl named Martha, who I have decided to sponsor on a monthly basis.
While I was on this missionary trip in Eastern Africa I was fortunate enough to meet and be with local village leadership to learn more about how their world looks to them and how it works for them. In my travels it seems as though we may have it backwards here in America.
These villages are stricken with malaria, poverty, HIV, no education systems or healthcare systems, yet they are the happiest people I have ever been around in my life.
